When Moses asked God what is His name that he could tell the children of Israel, God
answered Moses, “I Am Who I Am.” He is the great I Am! Did you know that we can’t
even define ourselves without first saying His name? I Am…
We live in a woke culture, era, generation that wants to redefine who God created us to
be. This woke culture says if you don’t like who you are, you can be something
different… Do you want to be a boy instead of a girl, a cat, a unicorn?? But even in
trying to redefine themselves they must say His name… I Am. And guess what? As The
Great I Am, He doesn’t make mistakes. He created you who you are in His image on
purpose for a purpose. You weren’t a mistake. You aren’t an accident. You are His joy,
His blessing, His treasure. You are the apple of His eye. He sees you. He loves you.
And He is reaching out to you even now.
In writing the book, I Am Who I Am, my goal is to reach out to children while they are
young and vulnerable to the lies of this woke culture—the culture that tries to convince
them that somehow they are a mistake, that they’re stuck in the wrong body or that they
can rewrite who they were created to be. None of us is a better author of our own
destiny than He who is the Author and Finisher of our faith, He who created us from the
dust of the earth, He who formed us in our mother’s womb, He who knew us before the
universe ever even existed.
I want to reach out to children to remind and ensure them that they are special and
unique and precious and priceless just like God made them. And I wish to encourage
them to be who God created them to be and celebrate those beautiful differences that
God gave them. Celebrate your culture, your heritage. Find joy in the leadership
qualities and the strengths you are given. Enjoy the beauty and creativity of who you
are. Children born with what the world might call disabilities can even rejoice in and
celebrate the heart of gold they’ve been given, the perseverance, the ingenuity they find
in overcoming and the inspiration they bring to others.
Don’t fall for the lies of this world. Trust in the goodness of The Great I Am in His plan
for your life, after all, you are His pearl, His treasure, His star.
